What does 1300 domestic travel insurance cover?

1300 Insurance’s domestic travel insurance policy will cover you for cancellation fees and lost deposits, additional expenses, luggage and personal effects, travel delay expenses, and personal liability among other things.

What does 1300 international travel insurance cover?

1300 Insurance’s Comprehensive international travel insurance policy will cover you for everything mentioned previously regarding cover provided by their domestic policy, however you will also be covered for overseas emergency medical assistance, overseas emergency medical and hospital expenses, emergency dental expenses, alternative transport expenses, and rental vehicle insurance excess.

1300 Insurance’s Basics travel insurance policy only provides cover for overseas medical expenses, along with funeral expenses and personal liability.

What does 1300 multi-trip travel insurance cover?

1300 Insurance’s Multi-Trip travel insurance policy provides cover for multiple 15, 30, or 45-day trips either within Australia or overseas. It offers cover for cancellation fees and lost deposits, overseas medical expenses, luggage and personal effects, travel delay expenses, personal liability, and more.

Does 1300 travel insurance have overseas hospital cover?

Yes, all of 1300 Insurance’s international travel insurance policies (Comprehensive, Basics, and Multi-Trip) provide cover for emergency hospital expenses.

Check the PDS for any exclusions that may apply.

Does 1300 travel insurance cover lost, stolen or damaged luggage?

1300 says it will cover you up to a certain amount for replacing or reimbursing luggage and personal effects that are lost, stolen or damaged while travelling.

Under 1300 Insurance’s domestic travel insurance policy, singles are covered for up to $3,000 worth of luggage and personal effects, whereas couples and families are covered for up to $6,000 worth ($3,000 per person in the case of a couple).

Under 1300 Insurance’s Comprehensive and Multi-Trip international travel insurance policies, singles are covered for up to $5,000 worth of luggage and personal effects, whereas couples and families are covered for up to $10,000 worth ($3,000 per person in the case of a couple). 1300 Insurance’s Basics international travel insurance policy does not provide cover for lost, stolen or damaged luggage.

Does 1300 Insurance travel insurance cover cancellation fees?

Some 1300 Insurance travel insurance policies will cover up to a certain amount for lost deposits and cancellation fees for pre-paid travel arrangements due to unforeseen circumstances outside the traveller’s control.

Both 1300 Insurance’s domestic and comprehensive international travel insurance policies provide up to $5,000 worth of cover for cancellation fees and lost deposits for singles, and up to $10,000 worth of cover for families and couples ($5,000 per individual).

1300 Insurance’s Basics travel insurance policy does not provide cover for cancellation fees or lost deposits.

How do you lodge a claim with 1300?

You can lodge a claim with 1300 either via phone or by post. If you choose to claim via phone, call 1300 Insurance on 1300 467 872 and make sure you have the following information on hand:

  • Your policy number
  • Details of the incident
  • Details of whether any police or emergency services were involved
