Andrew Willink
Chairman and Non-Executive Director

Andrew Willink revolutionised the retail finance industry in Australia during the 1990s when he founded Canstar.  Canstar is a leading consumer advocate, delivering transparency across a wide range of often complex products and helping save Australian households money. It is Australia’s biggest financial comparison website and is a respected online retail finance data, ratings and research firm. 

With over 40 years of experience in the financial services sector, Andrew has held various roles at National Australia Bank, Bankers Trust, Barclays, and Toronto Dominion. Andrew was CEO of Canstar until 2006.  He was reappointed to the Board as Chairman and non-executive director in January 2024.


Mark Gracey
Managing Director & Group CEO

Mark joined Canstar in 2024 after returning from France where he ran his own consultancy. From 2015-2021, Mark served on the Group Executive at leading UK listed price comparison group, MONY as Corporate Development Director (LON:MONY). MONY’s brands include Moneysupermarket, Quidco, and Moneysavingexpert. Mark led c£150m of acquisitions for MONY, served as the Chair of digital mortgage platform Podium Solutions, and led the merger of travel metasearch specialists Travelsupermarket and Icelolly.

Prior to MONY, Mark worked as a venture capitalist at the top 10 globally ranked technology investment fund, Scottish Equity Partners. Mark holds two first-class honours degrees (Engineering and Economics) and a Master of Economics (Statistics) from the University of Western Australia. He was admitted as a Chartered Professional Engineer by Engineers Australia in 2002.


 

Lachlan Given
Non-Executive Director

Lachie Given has been a Non-Executive Director of Canstar for over 15 years. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of EZCORP, a financial services and retail firm listed on Nasdaq. The company has over 8,000 staff and in excess of 1,200 stores across North and Central America.  Lachie is also a member of the board of directors of The Farm Journal Corporation, a 134-year old pre-eminent US agricultural media company;  Senetas Corporation Limited (SEN:AX), the world’s leading developer and manufacturer of certified, defence-grade encryption solutions; and Cash Converters International (ASX:CCV).

Lachie began his career working in the investment banking and equity capital markets divisions of Merrill Lynch in Hong Kong and Sydney, Australia.  He currently lives in London with his wife and 2 children.  Lachie graduated from the Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Banking and Finance (with distinction).


Dr Rosemary Willink
Non-Executive Director

Rosemary Willink has been a Non-Executive Director of Canstar for 5 years. She is a creative industries consultant with broad experience across government and the not-for-profit sector in strategic planning, stakeholder management and experience design. Rosemary has worked in leading institutions including Triple R Broadcasters, Creative Victoria, Australian Art Orchestra, the Queensland Art Gallery, the Serpentine Galleries, Sotheby’s, the Centre Pompidou and the Sydney Symphony.

Rosemary has a PhD on the creative industries from the University of Queensland and a Masters in Contemporary Art from Sotheby’s Institute. Rosemary is also on the Board of West Space Inc, a contemporary art space that supports under-represented artists, and co-founder of gms, a tool for sharing inspiration.

Chris Mitchell
Chief Financial Officer

Chris Mitchell joined the Canstar Group finance team in 2007 and is currently the CFO. Chris has co-piloted its transformation from a research business into a consumer digital marketplace.

Prior to Canstar, Chris has held senior financial and commercial roles in advertising in London (Proximity) and hospitality in Canada (Pan Pacific). In both roles, Chris partnered with the CFOs to build and implement commercial strategies that improved profitability and incentivised the teams. With more than 25 years experience, Chris started his career in audit in North Queensland. Chris has also been on the CA ANZ Queensland Regional Council since 2020.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree at James Cook University in Townsville. Chris has been a Chartered Accountant (CA) since 2000 and completed the AICD company directors course (2013).

Jeremy Willink
Chief Revenue Officer

Jeremy Willink joined the Canstar Group in 2014 and was promoted to Chief Revenue Officer in 2024. In this role, he leads the commercial strategy across Canstar’s diverse portfolio, including Canstar, Canstar Blue, Canstar New Zealand, and RateCity. He has also served on the boards of both Canstar (2013-2015) and RateCity (2019-2021)

Before joining Canstar, Jeremy spent a decade working in global financial hubs including London, New York, and Hong Kong. His career includes roles at JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs, and he was Vice President at BFAM, one of Asia’s largest macro hedge funds.

Jeremy holds a Bachelor of Business from Queensland University of Technology and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Mitchell Watson
Chief Data Officer

Mitchell (Mitch) Watson joined the Canstar Group in 2007 and  has been Chief Data Officer since August 2023. Mitch is responsible for leading Canstar’s technology team as well as data strategy and ensuring robust data governance. He focuses on leveraging data techniques, technology, analytics and automation to drive business goals and enhance operational performance.

Mitch has 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry. At Canstar, he has been instrumental in developing data capabilities across customer insights, product data, and market analysis. His work has included overseeing Canstar’s Research area.  He is a regular media commentator and contributor to industry publications.

Mitchell holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Management from Griffith University.

Elizabeth Carmichael
General Counsel & Company Secretary

Elizabeth (Libby) Carmichael joined the Canstar Group in 2020 and has been General Counsel & Company Secretary since 2024. She is responsible for managing Canstar Group’s legal, risk, Human Resources and compliance functions.  Libby also leads Canstar’s Research team, which powers the Star Ratings and Awards that help millions of Australians compare and choose financial, utilities and consumer products with confidence. Libby provides strategic advice on a wide range of matters, including corporate governance, commercial transactions, financial services, credit and regulatory compliance.

Prior to Canstar, Libby worked in London advising HMRC on high value technology transactions and at the UK’s energy regulator OfGem advising on offshore energy transmission transactions.  Before London, Libby worked for the Australian Government advising on a wide range of sectors, with a focus on technology and IP.

Libby holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland, as well as a Master of Laws and a Grad Dip in Legal Practice from the ANU. She is admitted as Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland.

Kia Petrenko
Chief Marketing Officer

Kia Petrenko joined the Canstar Group in 2025 as an accomplished marketing leader with extensive experience driving growth, innovation, and operational excellence across some of Australia’s most dynamic digital brands. As Chief Marketing Officer at Canstar, Kia brings a proven track record in shaping brands that consumers trust and leading impactful customer strategy.

Previously, Kia was Head of Growth Marketing at Menulog (2016–2025), where she shaped the media, performance, and customer strategy, driving major growth and operational efficiencies. Earlier, as Australian Marketing Manager at SurfStitch (2012–2015), Kia played a pivotal role in expanding the business from a Sydney start up to a publicly listed ASX company.

Kia holds a Bachelor of Business from the University of Technology Sydney, majoring in Marketing & Management.
