Canstar is a privately-owned research agency that also provides finance comparison services. On our website at www.canstar.com.au, we provide details about products so that you can compare and confidently make a decision about which product may be best for you.

We hold an Australian Financial Service Licence and an Australian Credit Licence. We are authorised to provide general advice only.

As a result, whilst we are able to provide certain product information or information about our ratings, we cannot provide a recommendation or suggestion for your particular circumstances or requirements, and we cannot sell you a product or advise you over the phone. See our FSCG.

If you are looking to purchase over the phone or you have a question about an existing product that you have with a finance provider or insurer, please contact them directly.

I’ve received a phone call or an email from someone claiming to be from Canstar. Is this legitimate? view icon

We will never cold call you. The only time we’ll call is if you’ve specifically requested a callback – for example, if you require assistance finding health insurance.

If you receive an unsolicited call from someone claiming to be Canstar, it is not us.

We will only ever email you content you’ve signed up for – such as product comparison service emails, newsletters and other promotional content.

You may have opted in by:

  • Creating a Canstar account
  • Signing up on our website or social media
  • Entering a competition
  • Downloading a free e-guide
  • Using a Canstar tool such as Free Credit Score Check or Interest Rate Alerts
