What types of travel insurance does Huddle offer?

Huddle offers both domestic and international travel insurance. On both its domestic and international travel insurance, Huddle offers two levels of cover:

  • Basic cover: Huddle says this provides you the bare essentials for your trip including unlimited overseas emergency medical and hospital expenses.
  • Comprehensive cover: Huddle says this provides all the benefits of its Basic policy plus extra protection, including higher limits, rental car excess, and travel delay expenses.

Huddle’s domestic travel insurance does not include any emergency medical assistance or hospital expenses. Huddle advises that you are not covered for winter sports unless you purchase the optional winter sports benefit.

What does Huddle’s Basic Travel Insurance cover?

Huddle’s Basic Travel Insurance policy will cover you for:

  • Overseas emergency medical assistance
  • Overseas emergency medical and hospital expenses
  • Cancellation fees and lost deposits
  • Luggage and personal effects
  • Personal liability
  • Dependent children go free

What does Huddle’s Comprehensive Travel Insurance cover?

Huddle’s Comprehensive Travel Insurance covers you for all the benefits of the Basic policy plus:

  • Additional expenses
  • Hospital cash allowance
  • Accidental death
  • Permanent disability
  • Loss of income
  • Travel documents, credit card and travellers’ cheques
  • Theft of cash
  • Luggage and personal effects delay expenses
  • Travel delay expenses
  • Special events
  • Rental vehicle excess
  • Pet care

Huddle Travel Insurance FAQs

Huddle’s Basic and Comprehensive travel insurance policies have unlimited overseas emergency medical and hospital expenses cover. This includes cover for hospital, medical, surgical, nursing, ambulance and emergency dental expenses.

Various conditions and exclusions may apply. For example, emergency dental treatment is only available up to $500 per person. For more information, read Huddle’s PDS.

Huddle’s Basic and Comprehensive policies cover you for lost, stolen or damaged luggage and personal effects. Comprehensive policies will cover you up to $10,000 and Basic policies up to $5,000, subject to certain sub-limits for individual items.

Huddle’s Basic and Comprehensive travel insurance policies will cover cancellation fees and deposits if you have to cancel your trip due to unforeseeable events outside your control (e.g. sickness, injury, natural disasters). Comprehensive policies will cover you up to $12,000, while Basic policies will cover up to $5,000. Read the PDS for more information.

You can lodge a claim using Huddle’s Genie Claims technology online or using the Huddle App. Otherwise, you can contact Huddle over the phone.

Huddle advises that for claims other than medical, hospital and dental, you must notify Huddle and submit details in writing within 30 days of your return.
