If you meet the eligibility requirements, you can apply online or by calling 13 37 39 – it takes less than 10 minutes to complete an application, according to Virgin Money. Have your ID and income details handy and check our list of documentation you may need when applying for a credit card.

You can expect to receive a response in less than 60 seconds (Virgin Money). In some cases, an instant response cannot be made and you will need to provide further information before the card can be approved; in this case, the card provider will contact you. You can check your application status at any time by calling the Applications Team on 1300 335 213 (open Mon-Fri) with your application reference number.

How do I manage my Virgin Money credit card through online banking?

You can manage your Virgin Money credit card through online banking or by calling Virgin Money using either telephone self-service banking (phone 13 37 39 and follow the prompts) or the Customer Care team (phone 13 37 39, or +61 2 8288 2222 from overseas). Use online banking to do things like view your recent transaction history, view your balance, and more.

You will need to register for Virgin Money Online when visiting the online banking website for the first time.

How is interest calculated on my Virgin Money credit card?

Interest is charged when you carry a balance on your Virgin Money credit card. Interest is charged on cash advances and bank cheques from the date of withdrawal (fees and charges apply) and on balance transfers from the date of transfer.

Up to 44 interest-free days apply to Virgin Money credit card purchases if you have paid the balance in full for the previous month’s statement and for the current month’s statement (the statement on which the purchases are listed).

Your credit limit for a Virgin Money credit card will be determined based on the information you provide in your application, keeping in mind the minimum and maximum credit limits available for each card.

You can request a decrease in your credit limit at any time, up to the minimum credit limit that applies to your card. You can request an increase in your credit limit after 9 months of holding your card, up to the maximum credit limit available for your card and depending on your financial situation.

Find out more about how credit limits are determined here.

Velocity Points will be transferred to your Velocity Frequent Flyer Account after each monthly statement is issued. Points in your Velocity Frequent Flyer Account do not expire as long as you remain an “active” Velocity Member, meaning that you earn or redeem Velocity Points within a 2-year period. For full details, see the Velocity Frequent Flyer terms and conditions. Find out more about points expiry here.

You can close your Virgin Money credit card account at any time by contacting Virgin Money:

  • Customer Care team: Phone 13 37 39 (within Australia) or +61 2 8288 2222 (from overseas) (open 24 hours, 7 days, Mon-Sun)

Your card balance will need to be repaid in full even after the card is closed. You will continue to receive monthly statements until your card balance is fully repaid.

If you are experiencing financial hardship, contact the Customer Care team to get help in making repayments.
