Eligibility to apply for Queenslanders Credit Union credit cards

You do not have to be an existing member to apply for a Queenslanders Credit Union credit card. To apply for a Queenslanders Credit Union credit card, you must meet their eligibility criteria:

  • Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • Good credit rating

How to apply for a Queenslanders Credit Union credit card

Assuming you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply by comparing credit cards on the Canstar website and applying for the card of your choice online on the Queenslanders Credit Union website. You can also apply by calling Queenslanders Credit Union on 1300 363 130.

You will need the usual documentation for applying for a credit card, including:

  1. Identity documents
  2. Your employment details
  3. Your annual income
  4. Your usual living expenses
  5. Your living situation and number of dependants in your household
  6. Details about assets you own such as a home, car, other belongings, or savings
  7. Any debts you currently owe on other credit cards, loans, or overdrafts

You will have to activate the card when it arrives before you are able to use that card. Activate the card using the mobile banking app, online banking, or by calling Queenslanders Credit Union on 1300 363 130.

You can manage your Queenslanders Credit Union credit card using the mobile banking app or through the online banking portal on their website. Online banking with Queenslanders Credit Union lets you manage your transaction history, view account balances, activate and deactivate new cards, and more.

When interest is charged

Interest is charged when you carry a balance on your Queenslanders Credit Union credit card. Interest is charged on cash advances from the date of withdrawal and balance transfers from the date of transfer (fees and charges apply).

When interest is not charged

Up to 55 interest-free days apply to Queenslanders Credit Union credit cards. These interest-free days are available when you pay your balance off in full for two consecutive months. For more information about interest-free days, check out our article on how they work.

Your credit limit for a Queenslanders Credit Union credit card will be determined based on the information you provide in your application, keeping in mind the minimum credit limits on the card (see above).

You can apply to change your credit limit at any time by contacting them. They may approve or reject requests for increases at their discretion, based on their lending criteria. Find out more about how credit limits are determined here.

You can close your Queenslanders Credit Union credit card at any time by contacting them, but your account will not officially be closed until 3 months after this date. You can ask them to reactivate your account at any time during this period at no cost to yourself.

Your card balance will need to be repaid in full even after the card is closed, and you will continue to receive monthly statements until your card balance is fully repaid.
