  • Interest-free period: Up to 55 days
  • Contactless payments: Contactless payments are enabled via Visa payWave for purchases under $100. Payments can also be made using Google Pay, Garmin Pay, Fitbit Pay and Samsung Pay. 
  • Security: All Heritage Visa cards are registered for Visa secure. You can also cancel, put your card on hold or block your card using the Heritage Bank app. 
  • Online and mobile management: Cards can be managed using online banking or using the Heritage Bank mobile banking app on compatible smartphones. 
  • Rewards program: Earn Heritage Credits rewards points for money spent using the card. Heritage Credits can be used for a range of activities including spending on your credit card, spending at nominated bonus partners and special promotions. The card also comes with Visa Front Line Access, which provides pre-sale access to music, sports and other tickets, and Concierge services.

Heritage Bank Credit Card FAQs

To apply for any of the Heritage Bank credit card products, you must be able to satisfy the following criteria:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Be a permanent Australian resident.
  • Have a good credit rating.

First, check whether you are eligible to apply for a Heritage Bank credit card. See above for the eligibility requirements.

If you meet the eligibility requirements, you can apply for a credit card by visiting any Heritage Bank branch and making an appointment. You can also call Heritage Bank if you need more information. It could also be a good idea to have your ID and income details handy.

You will have to activate the card when it arrives before you are able to use that card. Heritage Bank says you can activate the card using online banking, over the phone or by visiting a Heritage Bank branch.

You can manage your Heritage Bank credit card through Heritage Bank Internet Banking or using the Heritage Bank mobile banking app. Use online banking or mobile banking to do things like view your recent transaction history, view your balance, and more.

When interest is charged:

Interest is charged when you carry a balance on your Heritage Bank credit card. Interest is charged on cash advances from the date of the transaction and balance transfers from the date of the transaction. Fees and charges may apply, visit the Heritage Bank website for more details.

Interest is charged on all purchases made using the Heritage Bank Gold Low Rate Credit Card, as this card does not offer any interest-free days.

When interest is not charged:

Up to 55 interest-free days apply to the Heritage Bank Platinum and Classic credit cards. Interest-free days only apply to purchases if you have paid the balance in full for the current month’s statement (the statement on which the purchases are listed). Heritage Bank says cash advances and balance transfers are not eligible for an interest-free period.

Your credit limit for a Heritage Bank credit card will be determined based on the information you provide in your application, keeping in mind the minimum and maximum credit limits available for each card. Heritage Bank says your credit limit can be increased or decreased at your request however, any increase in the credit limit will be subject to it’s approval. Heritage Bank says you can make a request at a branch or online.

You can close your Heritage Bank credit card account at any time by contacting Heritage Bank at a branch or online.

Heritage Bank advises that your card balance will need to be repaid in full even after the card is closed (including accrued interest and fees and charges). You will continue to receive monthly statements until your card balance is fully repaid.

If you are experiencing financial hardship, you can contact Heritage Bank and you may be able to get help making repayments.
