Yes, you can manage your Horizon Bank credit card through online banking. You can access statements of your savings, view transaction information, and view all of your cards and accounts online.

When interest is charged

Interest is charged on purchases when you carry a balance on your Horizon Bank credit card. Interest is charged on cash advances from the date of withdrawal. How much interest is charged depends on the interest rates that apply to that card.

When interest is not charged

Up to 55 interest-free days apply to purchases made by both of the Horizon Bank credit cards as long as you have paid the balance in full for the previous month’s statement and for the current month’s statement. For more information about interest-free days, check out our article on how they work.

Your credit limit for a Horizon Bank credit card will be determined based on the information you provide in your application, keeping in mind the minimum and maximum credit limits (see above).

If you wish to change the credit limit on your card, you can do so at any time using your own discretion. You can submit the request by emailing info@horizon.org.au or by calling 1300 366 565. Horizon Bank may approve or reject requests based on their lending criteria.

Formerly known as Horizon Credit Union, Horizon Bank was founded in 1964 by employees of the Illawarra County Council. The first loan granted by the bank was a sum of $80 to purchase a vacuum cleaner.

One of Horizon Bank’s key initiatives is ‘Green Horizons’, their environmental sustainability program. For example, all branches and the head offices are powered by renewable sources, and Horizon Bank has plant life in all its branches and offices in order to create a healthier, purified working environment.

Horizon Credit Union began trading as Horizon Bank in September 2019.

You can compare other Horizon Bank products on the Canstar website, such as Horizon Bank home loans, personal loans, savings and transaction accounts, term deposits, home insurance, car insurance, and travel insurance.
