Types of Emplus Super accounts
Emplus Super offers personal and employer super funds with a choice of 22 investment options. The options include diversified and sector choices and you can pick and mix to suit your needs. Sector choices include international equities, Australian equities, property, fixed income and small companies.
Emplus Super provides the below benefits to their members:
- Insurance in super available for death cover (life insurance), and total and permanent disability (TPD) cover
- Easy online account access
- Financial advice
At the time of writing (19/07/2018) Emplus charges annual fees based on your total balance. This includes an 0.03% investment fee, a 0.56% administration fee and a $65 annual administration charge.
With this in mind, be sure to compare the annual fees charged by LESF against the fees charged by other funds, keeping in mind that other funds with similar or higher fees may be providing additional products and services that LESF does not.
Eligibility to join Emplus Super
Emplus Super does not list any eligibility requirements on its website or PDS. However, super funds generally require that you satisfy the following criteria to register with them:
- You must be an Australian resident
- You must be over 18 years of age
- You must be earning at least $450 before tax per month from an employer
If you are under the age of 18, but earning more than $450 before tax per month, you must be working more than 30 hours per week to qualify for super.
