Do ME savings accounts require a linked transaction account?

Yes, ME require an Everyday Transaction Account to be lined to its Savings Account in order to earn the highest available interest rate. ME also requires savers to make a weekly ‘tap & go’ payment with their Everyday Transaction Account debit card in order to be eligible for the bonus interest.

Does ME charge fees on its savings accounts?

Savings accounts can come with several fees, such as monthly account-keeping fees, transaction fees, withdrawal fees and more. ME doesn’t charge domestic banking fees on its Savings Account at the time of writing (7/08/18), although some fees may apply for international transactions according to ME’s fees and charges guide

What does ME offer in terms of mobile banking for savings accounts?

ME offers both online and mobile banking for its savings products, with its app available in both the Apple and Google store. Notable features of ME’s mobile banking include:

  • Log in with your fingerprint on devices with Touch ID

How to apply for a ME savings account

Before applying for a ME savings account, consider comparing it against other savings accounts on the market to ensure it is the right one for you. You can then apply for a ME savings account online, provided you have the correct documentation:

  • At least one form of ID, such as your driver’s license or passport
  • Accurate personal information, such as your name, date of birth, address and phone number

ME does not require you to deposit a minimum amount before activating the account.
