How happy are you with your home insurance? Canstar asked thousands of Australians this question to find out which providers have the most satisfied customers.
We asked them to rate their overall satisfaction with their provider, as well as their satisfaction with specific aspects of their policy such as customer service and value for money.
The providers who scored the highest have been recognised with a Most Satisfied Customers Award for home insurance. Canstar has handed out national and state-based Awards.
These Awards are designed to complement our Home Insurance Star Ratings and Awards, which are assessed by Canstar’s expert researchers.

Canstar surveyed 9,144 people in total for this research, with 4,891 respondents saying they had a current home and/or contents insurance policy. This year, customer service was the biggest measure of customer satisfaction (27%), followed by value for money (22%), comprehensiveness of cover (19%), communication (16%) and cost (16%).
2022 Most Satisfied Customers – Australia
Youi has taken out Canstar’s 2022 Most Satisfied Customers – Home Insurance Award for Australia, as well as state Awards for New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland. This is the second year in a row that Youi has won the national Award.
Customers rated Youi highly across all categories considered, but it performed particularly well for cost and value for money compared to the average of other brands researched.
2022 Most Satisfied Customers – state-by-state
The winners of this year’s Most Satisfied Customers – Home Insurance Awards by state are:
- New South Wales: Budget Direct and Youi
- Victoria: Youi
- Queensland: Youi
- Western Australia: RAC
- South Australia: RAA
Youi has won the Queensland Award every year since it was first introduced four years ago. It is also Youi’s third year in a row winning the New South Wales Award.
This is also the fourth year in a row that RAC and RAA have won awards for Western Australia and South Australia, respectively.
