Red Energy is owned by Snowy Hydro, known for the Snowy Mountains hydroelectricity scheme. 

It provides electricity and natural gas to over one million Australians in New South Wales, Victoria, South East Queensland, South Australia and the Australian Capital Territory.

Red Energy offers a range of sign-up incentives, including Frequent Flyer points thanks to its partnership with Qantas.

Red Energy Rewards

While Red Energy doesn’t have a specific rewards program, Qantas Frequent Flyer members can earn points on Qantas Red Saver plans at sign up, and for paying bills on time. Customers will earn 2 points per $1 spent on Red Energy bills.

 It also offers a refer-a-friend reward of a $25 eGift card for both you and your friend or Qantas points.

Utilities bundling 

Red Energy doesn’t offer discounts for bundling electricity and gas plans.

Red Energy’s app includes access to the following account features:

  • Bill payments: Pay your bill, check due dates and upcoming payments.
  • Account management: Move your services to a new address and update personal and billing information. 
  • Solar support: See how much solar energy you’ve exported and how much bill credit you’ve received in return.
  • Add concession details: Eligible concession card holders can add or edit their details.
  • Check energy usage: Check how much energy your household uses each day.

Red Energy offers multiple plans with extras, including charitable donations. Its BCNA plan donates part of every bill payment to the Breast Cancer Network - up to $60 per year for electricity and $60 per year for gas.
