How do Canstar’s Star Ratings and Awards work?

Canstar’s researchers use a sophisticated methodology that’s tailored to each product type. The result is Canstar’s Star Ratings, with top-rated products across the banking, insurance, business, investment and super sectors recognised with a 5-Star Rating. The Star Ratings are based on the overall value each product offers to Australian consumers, based on a combination of price and features.

Canstar also recognises financial institutions with annual Awards for outstanding value across a wide range of product categories. In many cases, these Awards are given to the providers with products that are the strongest overall performers in our Star Ratings over the award period. In other cases, Canstar may give Awards independent of our Star Ratings to providers found to excel in a particular financial product category during the award period.

How does Canstar recognise customer satisfaction?
