Canstar talks with William Pescott, QBANK Product Manager, about QBANK’s new Everyday Plus account.
Australia’s $100 billion member owned banking sector has long had a tradition of giving back to the community and Queensland’s QBANK (formerly QPCU) is no exception. In addition to its Community Giving Program, its Everyday Heroes Awards and its Staff Social Investment Program, QBANK has recently launched a new everyday account that provides a donation to charity each month.
The Everyday Plus Transaction Account offers free standard transactions and no monthly account fees when you deposit at least $1500 a month, access to Australia’s largest ATM network and the account makes monthly donations to charities in your community.
Specifically, for each Everyday Plus account opened, QBANK will pay 10c each month to a charity fund. At the end of each quarter these funds will be paid to a selected charity. The selected charities will receive these funds with one charity receiving these funds each quarter – each charity will receive one payment per year.
Currently, the selected charities are:

Canstar caught up with QBank Product Manager, William Pescott, to find out more about the reasons for donating and the community feedback.
A: At QBANK, if your job is to look after Queensland, our job is to look after you. We are proud of the communities we serve and as a member-owned bank it’s important to us that our profits are reinvested not only into improving our product and service offering, but also into community organisations that support our members. The Everyday Plus account is a great way to cement this support for many years to come.
A: The feedback from members and our community partners has been fantastic. There has been resounding support for the product as it gives us a chance to show that we don’t just say we’re here to support our community, we are actually investing in projects and initiatives that directly benefit our members and their community. The Everyday Plus account is an initiative that we can all be proud of.
A: While we support a large variety of community organisations through our Community Giving Program, we have four main Community Partners who we have strong connections with. They are Queensland Police Legacy, the KJM Foundation (QAS), Bike 4 Burns (QFES) and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital Foundation. We’ve seen firsthand the great work our community partners do for the community and we are very proud to offer our strong support.
