The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8  have officially been unveiled, with all three devices boasting top-tier cameras, all-day battery and a suite of AI enhancements. This year’s release also sees a revamped size and shape for the standard Fold 8, with Samsung debuting a more compact, square phone that’s sure to divide opinions.

If you're in the market to upgrade to a head-turning new handset, all three phones are now available to pre-order, with devices arriving in stores on August 13, 2026. Even better: pre-order now, and you can score a hefty discount on your device.

Here’s a round-up of the Samsung Galaxy Z series’ pre-order deals and offers.

Telstra

Pre-order the Z Fold 8 or Z Flip 8 range on a Telstra phone plan, and you can save up to $800 on the retail price of your new phone — plus score up to $300 in bonus credit if you trade in your old device.

To qualify, you’ll need to order one of the three new Samsung phones on a Telstra 12, 24 or 36-month repayment plan (this deal isn’t available if you’re buying from Telstra outright). Eligible customers will receive the following discounts:

  • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra: $800 off RRP
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8: $700 off RRP
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8: $500 off RRP

The discount will be applied evenly over your 12, 24 or 36 months of device payments. If you cancel your service early, you will be required to pay the full retail price of your phone.

If you’re trading in an old smartphone, Telstra will also throw in an extra $300 on top of your handset’s trade-in value.

These offers are available until August 13, terms apply.

Optus

Optus is also offering big discounts for Samsung pre-orders, with $750 off for customers who buy on a payment plan and stay connected for the duration of their phone payments. Pick up your choice of Samsung device on a 12, 24 or 36-month plan and you’ll save the following:

  • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra: $750 off RRP
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8: $750 off RRP
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8: $750 off RRP

Customers will see the discount applied to their monthly device repayment, so will need to remain on their plan for the full 12, 24 or 36 months or be required to pay their phone’s outstanding balance at full price.

This offer is available until August 13, terms apply.

Vodafone

Vodafone customers can score a $700 discount on the Fold and $500 off the Flip when pre-ordering on a Vodafone plan.

  • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra: $700 off RRP
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8: $700 off RRP
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8: $500 off RRP

To qualify, customers will need to buy on a 24 or 36 month device payment plan and stay connected to their Vodafone mobile plan for the full duration. The discount will be applied in equal monthly instalments; cancel early, and you’ll have to pay the full retail price.

Vodafone is also giving customers a $300 bonus credit for trading in an eligible old device in good working order. Again, this is available to customers who pre-order any Galaxy Z Fold/Flip 8 device on a 24 or 36-month plan.

These offers are available until August 13, terms apply.

Samsung

If you’d prefer to buy directly from the Samsung online store, the manufacturer will throw in either a $150 trade-in credit for old phones, or a $150 Eco-Voucher to spend on Galaxy accessories. This is available for all of this year’s new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip devices from now to August 13.

JB Hi-Fi

Pre-order the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Fold 8 Ultra or Flip 8 from JB Hi-Fi and receive a bonus $300 JB Hi-Fi gift card. This deal is valid until August 13, terms apply.

Is a pre-order deal the best way to buy a new phone?

If your preference is to buy new phones on a telco plan and spread out the payments — rather than drop $1,000-plus on a new phone upfront, but own it outright — grabbing a pre-order offer can earn you a significant discount.

However, the catch with telco deals like those above is that you’ll be required to stay with your provider for the full duration of your payment term. If you want to cancel early and pay out the remaining balance left on your device, you’ll usually forfeit that initial discount.

If you have the cash to buy outright, you can still save by pre-ordering. While the initial discounts may be smaller, the freedom to take your new phone to any Australian telco could pay off over time if you’re spending much less on your mobile bill per month.
