Canstar surveyed thousands of Australians to find out how satisfied they are with their current car insurance provider.
We asked Aussies to rate their provider based on factors like customer service, value for money and how comprehensive their coverage is.
The providers who scored the highest overall have been awarded with Canstar’s 2022 Most Satisfied Customers Award for car insurance. We’ve also handed out Most Satisfied Customers Awards for Seniors Insurance and Roadside Assistance.
The Awards are designed to complement our Star Ratings and Awards, which are judged by our expert researchers based on the pricing and features of eligible products and providers.

Shannons has won Canstar’s 2022 Most Satisfied Customers Award for Car Insurance nationally. Shannons is part of the Suncorp Network and specialises in car insurance designed for motoring enthusiasts, including for classic and vintage vehicles, though it also offers other insurance products such as motorcycle and home insurance. Shannons’ car insurance customers scored it highly across all factors this year, particularly customer service and comprehensiveness of cover.
Shannons has also picked up the 2022 Most Satisfied Customers Award for Seniors Insurance. This national Award considers customers over the age of 60 who have either a car or home and contents insurance policy. Shannons scored highly across all customer satisfaction factors in the Seniors Insurance Award.
For these Awards, Canstar asked customers to rate their satisfaction across customer service, value for money, comprehensiveness of cover, communication and cost (premiums).
In addition to the national Award, Canstar has also given state-based Awards. This year, Canstar surveyed over 6,200 Australians to find out which car insurance provider’s customers were the most satisfied in different states.

Canstar’s Most Satisfied Customers Award for Roadside Assistance is a state-based award. This year, Canstar surveyed over 3,700 roadside assistance customers in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria to determine the winners.

For this award, Canstar asked customers about their satisfaction across customer service, roadside response speed in the event of a breakdown, value for money, communication, comprehensiveness of cover and cost.
Separately, Canstar has also announced the winners of its 2022 Most Satisfied Customers Awards for home insurance.
