Canstar's 2026 Most Satisfied Customers Awards: Small Business

About the awards

We surveyed over 2,000 Australian small business owners to find out which providers they’re most satisfied with, from banking and insurance to parcel delivery and accounting software.

Running a small business means relying on a lot of providers, and with 70% of businesses reporting increased costs over the past year, getting value from those relationships matters. Our research found, in most of the 15 categories considered, satisfaction isn’t driven by price alone. What matters more is how a service performs day to day – reliability, customer service, and how easy it is to deal with.

Here’s who came out on top in Canstar’s Most Satisfied Customers Awards.

About our research

Canstar’s Most Satisfied Customers Awards recognise brands that perform best in the areas that matter most to customers. We survey thousands of Aussies each year, asking them to rate the brands and services they use across key criteria like reliability and value for money. Each factor is weighted based on its real impact on customer satisfaction, then our Research team analyses the data to determine which brands are setting the benchmark.

Unlike our Expert Awards, which assess product value, this award is based entirely on the real-world experiences of everyday Australians.

Criteria assessed

We surveyed Australian small business owners and operators and asked them to rate their satisfaction with the providers they use across a range of criteria.

In this research, we define small business as any business with up to 200 employees – whether that’s a sole trader, a family-run operation, or a growing team. Respondents included business owners, operators, and key decision makers across all Australian states and territories.

The criteria we assess – and how much weight each carries – are determined through statistical analysis of what actually drives customer satisfaction. This means the weightings reflect what genuinely matters to customers, based on data. Because the drivers of satisfaction differ depending on the product, criteria and their weightings vary across each award category.
