About the home loan providers and lenders on our database

Below are some of the home loan lenders in our database:

ANZ home loans

ANZ logo

ANZ, or the Australia and New Zealand Banking Corporation, is one of Australia’s ‘big four’ banks, and the largest bank in New Zealand. It offers a wide range of home loan products, including fixed rate terms of more than five years — one of few lenders that do. ANZ acquired Suncorp’s banking arm in 2024, and Suncorp-branded home loans will transition to the ANZ brand by June 2027.

Bendigo Bank

Bendigo Bank logo

Bendigo Bank is one of Australia’s biggest lenders, among only a handful whose home loan book has cracked $50 billion. Bendigo Bank is notable among the majors for its focus on regional banking, maintaining a network of over 400 branches throughout Australia. Up is a subsidiary of Bendigo Bank, while Tiimely Home mortgages are funded by the bank.

Bank of Queensland

BOQ logo

Despite its name, Bank of Queensland, or BOQ, doesn’t just service the Sunshine State. In fact, it’s often among the top ten lenders in Australia by home loan book size. After somewhat recent acquisitions, Virgin Money and ME Bank are now subsidiaries of BOQ.

Commonwealth Bank

Commonwealth Bank logo

Commonwealth Bank or CBA was founded by the Australian Government in 1911 and operated as the central bank until the RBA was established in 1959. CBA was fully privatised in 1996 and is now Australia’s biggest home loan lender by far. Its home loan book cracked $600 billion in 2025 — the first and only Australian lender to do so to date. It has one of the widest ranges of home loan products available, catering to many different types of borrower.

Community First Bank

Community First Bank logo

Community First Bank is a customer-owned provider that started in Sydney in 1959. Today, it also incorporates online bank Easy Street. Community First is notable for its Community Advantage home loans, which offer LMI concessions for essential service workers like paramedics or teachers.

Easy Street Financial Services

Easy Street Fin Services logo

Easy Street is an online division of Community First, offering banking and loans. Its mortgage products are unusual with no distinction between owner occupiers and investors — all customers pay the same rate. Maybe unsurprisingly then, Easy Street won Canstar’s 2026 Outstanding Value Award for variable rate investment loans.

Greater Bank

Greater Bank logo

Greater Bank was established in 1945 as the Greater Building Society. After a merger with Newcastle Permanent in 2023, it now forms part of the Newcastle Greater Mutual Group, which is one of the largest customer-owned home loan lenders in Australia. Home loans are still offered under the Greater Bank brand, which won several Canstar Awards for Outstanding Value in 2026 for its fixed-rate and investment loans.

Homestar Finance

Homestar Finance logo

Homestar Finance is a non-bank lender founded in Australia in 2004. It offers construction loans, as well as standard home loans. In 2026 Homestar won Canstar’s Outstanding Value Award for variable rate home loans.

Horizon Bank

Horizon Bank logo

Horizon Bank is a relatively small customer-owned bank predominantly operating in Illawarra, although anyone can become a member. It maintains a branch network along the southern coast of New South Wales and emphasises personalised services for home loan and banking customers.

IMB Bank

imb logo

IMB Bank began in 1880 as the Illawarra Mutual Building Society. It remains customer-owned and offers banking services and business lending on top of a range of home loans. IMB Bank is a participating lender in the 5% Deposit Scheme, allowing eligible borrowers to avoid paying LMI.

ING Bank

ING logo

ING is a huge multinational offering a range of financial services on top of banking, with headquarters in Amsterdam. ING Bank has become one of the biggest home loan lenders in Australia outside of the big four, advertising a range of options. Home loan customers might also be eligible for discounts on ING insurance products.

loans.com.au

loans.com.au logo

loans.com.au is the online arm of Firstmac, one of Australia’s biggest non-bank lenders, offering home loans and car loans. Its variable-rate home loans won a Canstar Outstanding Value Award in 2026.

Macquarie Bank

Macquarie Bank logo

Macquarie Bank is one of the biggest in Australia outside of the big four — sometimes even included in a ‘big five’. Macquarie is a major player in the home loan market, and was the first Australian lender other than the big four to have a home loan book worth more than $100 billion.

NAB

NAB logo

National Australia Bank, usually called NAB, is one of the big four of Australian banking, currently holding one of the nation’s largest home loan books. NAB offers a similarly comprehensive range of home loans to the rest of the big four, with home loans also available through its digital subsidiary, UBank.

NRMA

NRMA Insurance logo

Perhaps better known as an insurer, NRMA (National Roads and Motorists’ Association) now also offers home loans through a partnership with Bendigo Bank. These loans are currently only available for established properties, so can’t be used to purchase vacant land or off-the-plan homes.

People First Bank

People First Bank logo

People First Bank is now the biggest customer-owned bank in Australia, following the merger of People’s Choice Credit Union and Heritage Bank. It also has the biggest home loan book of any customer-owned entity, similar in size to that of established commercial bank, AMP. In 2026, People First won several Canstar Outstanding Value awards for its home loan offerings.

Police Credit Union

Police Credit Union logo

Police Credit Union was born in 1970 to service the police force in South Australia. These days however, anyone can become a member and apply for its home loans. Branches are still available throughout South Australia, with one in the Northern Territory, and becoming a member online is straightforward.

Queensland Country Bank

Queensland Country Bank logo

Queensland Country Bank was founded in 1971 in Mount Isa as a credit union for mining employees. Membership is now available to all Australian citizens and residents and, in 2026, its home loans won Canstar Outstanding Value awards for variable-rate and investment loans.

Ubank

Ubank logo

ubank is a digital bank owned by NAB, operating under its parent company’s banking licence. Since digital lenders often have lower operating costs than conventional banks, ubank rates are sometimes lower than those available at NAB.

Unity Bank

Unity Bank logo

Unity Bank is a customer-owned bank offering a range of home loans, including products exclusively available to essential workers. In 2026, Unity Bank won several Canstar Outstanding Value Awards for its home loans, including the overall award for outstanding value across its range.

Unloan

Unloan logo

Unloan, an online lender built by Commonwealth Bank, launched in 2022. It offers variable rate home loans to owner occupiers and investors, with an inbuilt loyalty discount that lowers your rate each year you stay with it. Unloan won a Canstar Outstanding Value Award for variable-rate home loans in 2026.

Up

Up logo

Up is a digital subsidiary of Bendigo Bank, offering owner-occupier home loans. It won two Canstar Outstanding Value Awards for 2026, claiming an award for its variable-rate products as well as an overall award for outstanding value across both variable and fixed options.

Westpac

Westpac logo

Westpac is currently Australia’s second largest home loan lender. It incorporates both the Westpac brand and its subsidiaries, which include St George, BankSA, and Bank of Melbourne. Its home loan book is worth more than $500 billion and, in 2026 its variable-rate home loans for investors won a Canstar award for Outstanding Value.
