An Apple gift card deal landing in your inbox can set off alarm bells for a potential scam–but this time it’s a genuine offer. Coles is offering 20x Flybuys points when you buy Apple gift cards in store at the supermarket with the potential to earn 50,000 points each day. It’s a legitimate way to boost your points balance ahead of the Christmas season or get better value on a future Apple purchase.
The value you get from this deal depends on how you use your points.
The simplest option is Flybuys Dollars, which gives you $10 off your shop for every 2,000 points. This effectively makes the Apple gift card deal work like a 10% cashback offer.
Alternatively, you can convert your points to Velocity points for flights or use the Flybuys reward store to buy products.
Let’s say you buy a new iPad Pro for $2,199 using the gift card deal. You would earn 44,000 Flybuys points.
Here’s what you could do with those points:
Point values and reward availability can change. These examples are estimates at the time of writing. The best way to spend your points will depend on current offers and your personal needs.
