About the Innovation Excellence Awards
We invite organisations across Australia and New Zealand to share their most exciting innovations from the past 12 months for consideration in the Canstar Innovation Excellence Awards.
Each submission is analysed by our expert research team and assessed by our judging panel. Using Canstar’s unique assessment methodology, entries are judged on their uniqueness, impact, and the value they deliver to consumers.
The Innovation Excellence Award winners represent products and services that are recognised for setting new standards in innovation and creating solutions that simplify consumers’ everyday lives, solve real problems, or offer improved experiences.

How to impress the judges of the Innovation Excellence Awards?
Our judges are looking for innovations that:
- Clearly improve or simplify consumers’ everyday lives
- Stand out from what’s already available through originality, smart design, or meaningful improvement
- Deliver a genuine ‘wow’ factor by delighting or surprising consumers with usefulness or creativity
- Are accessible, easy to understand, and/or affordable
Who can enter the Innovation Excellence Awards?
Entries are open to organisations in Australia and New Zealand that have launched a new or significantly improved product, service, or initiative in their industry in the past 12 months. We assess innovations across industries including financial services, insurance, energy, telecommunications, appliances, technology, as well as retail and consumer goods.
