Are health insurance deals worth it?
This will ultimately depend on your needs and personal circumstances. It may not be worth choosing a health insurance provider based solely on an introductory deal or short-term discount. After all, while a gift card or a month of free cover may be handy, it could be a small token in terms of the overall cost and coverage provided by the health insurance policy.
Therefore, it’s important to consider the cost and quality of coverage alongside any sign up deal or offer. You may find a policy that suits your needs that also happens to have a sign up deal attached. It’s also worth reading any policy documentation, such as the Private Health Information Statement (PHIS) and Target Market Determination (TMD), of any policy you’re considering.
Other factors to consider when comparing health insurance
If you’re shopping around for health insurance, it’s important to look for the hospital and/or extras policy that’s right for you or your family’s needs, preferences and circumstances. You can compare health insurance with Canstar’s comparison table or you can book a call with a professional to discuss your health insurance options.
There is a wide range of health insurance policies on offer for consumers who choose to shop around and compare. In fact, Canstar’s most recent Health Insurance Awards considered thousands of hospital, extras and combined policies, from dozens of insurance providers. Award winners were judged to have offered customers outstanding value either nationally or in a particular state or territory. You may be interested in reviewing these providers when making your decision.
