I already have a Canstar Mobile App account and NOT a Canstar Website Account. How do I log in to the updated app?

I already have a Canstar Mobile App account AS WELL AS a Canstar Website Account. How do I log in to the updated app?

Visit the Google Play or Apple Store to update the app (which will download the new version). Your Canstar Web Account login details have now become your Canstar Mobile App login details.

With our recent app update, we have streamlined the login process for our customers. You will now seamlessly access both your Canstar Web Account and your Canstar Mobile App by using your Web Account details. You will no longer be able to use the password you previously used to log in to the Canstar App.

If you wish to change your password, you can do so by clicking ‘forgot password’ in either the Canstar App login page or the login page for canstar.com.au and following the prompts.

Credit Score

Please ensure you are entering the correct address details and please check your current ID matches and is up to date. It may also be worthwhile clearing your cache and trying with a different internet browser.

We are aware there is a current bug for a small portion of users where the system does not recognise some addresses and licence numbers.

Our credit score tool lets you generate your credit score twice in 24 hours. So if you run out of attempts, you can try again the following day. It’s also a soft credit check so multiple attempts won’t affect your credit score in any way.

The position of your card number will be dependent on when your license was issued.

You will likely find the card number on the back of the card on the right-hand side, under the enlarged number and/or on top of the reverse strip.

Your credit score may be different with another company if they use a different credit bureau provider.

Canstar uses Equifax to provide your credit score. If a company uses a different provider they will likely use a different scoring system. This means they will take different factors into account when calculating the score so it will never be the exact same.

Another possibility is if there was a missed payment or application being submitted between the time of checking the two scores.

Canstar’s credit tool is a soft credit check and not a hard credit enquiry such as full credit report. A full credit report can be done through credit bureau providers such as Equifax, which can be found here.

If your credit score leads you to suspect there is an error or suspicious activity with your credit, we suggest reaching out the credit bureau provider Equifax here for assistance.

Interest Rate Alerts

A provider is a financial institution that Canstar collects and maintains interest rate data for. Canstar does not collect and maintain data for all providers in the market therefore it’s possible that you may not find the provider you are looking for.

A “product” refers to the general financial product category distributed by financial institutions.

This tool is designed for users who are interested in monitoring interest rate changes from certain financial institutions.

You can add a provider to your watchlist by clicking on the ‘Add to watchlist’ button and selecting your product and providers.

You can remove a provider from your watchlist by swiping across to delete, via the provider summary page by clicking ‘Delete this alert’ or by editing your watchlist and unselecting the given provider.

You can edit or update your provider list as often as you like. However, you will only receive alerts for providers that are in your watchlist at the time of their rate change.

You can have up to 3 providers per product on your watchlist at any given time.

Canstar endeavours to collect and update interest rate information for all providers in a timely manner. In the event that there is a delay in updating the interest rates, you may not receive a push notification for a rate change. Canstar does not provide any guarantee that you will receive an Interest Rate Alert for all rate changes for the providers nominated in your provider list.

The providers available on Canstar’s database can vary from time to time. You will be notified if a provider you subscribe to is no longer available to track in Interest Rate Alerts. Canstar does not provide any guarantee that you will be able to receive Interest Rate Alerts for all financial institutions.

You can unsubscribe from Interest Rate Alert notifications at any time. Unsubscribing from Interest Rate Alert notifications will not stop you from accessing the tool in the Canstar App, only from receiving Interest Rate Alert push notifications to your mobile device. You can do this by turning off notifications on your watchlist page. Please note that by doing this you may still receive other notifications from the Canstar App. To turn off all push notifications from Canstar, you can manage this in the Account Settings section of the Canstar App.
