About Canstar’s Most Satisfied Customers Phone Trade-In Service Awards

Canstar’s Most Satisfied Customers Awards showcase the mobile phone trade-in service providers with the happiest customers across Australia. We ask customers to rate their satisfaction with the phone trade-in service provider they have used by overall satisfaction, as well as other criteria including value for money, customer service, trade-in process, value, range of devices able to trade and speed of service.

Best Mobile Trade-In Service — Apple

Apple took out top spot for best mobile trade-in service, scoring five stars for overall satisfaction, customer service and speed of service, while it scored four stars for trade-in process, value and range of devices able to trade.

The 2024 winner, Mobile Guru, came in second place, scoring four stars for overall satisfaction, customer service and speed of service, followed by JB Hi-Fi in third place, which scored four stars for overall satisfaction. Telstra, Officeworks and Vodafone also scored four stars for overall satisfaction, while Optus and Samsung rounded out our ratings each with three stars for overall satisfaction.

In-store trade-in services were the most popular way of trading in an old device, with 59% of our survey respondents opting to go in-store, while 41% used an online service. Of those surveyed, 35% received store credit for their trade in, followed by 27% receiving cash and 22% receiving a discount on their phone bill.

Of those surveyed, 34% of respondents planned to use the same phone trade-in service again in the future, while 21% stated they would use a different service in the future. Overall though, 36% were happy with the cash/credit amount they received, while 37% said they would recommend a trade-in service to others.
