All Hospital policies include varying levels of cover for the following:

  • Hospital accommodation for day surgery, overnight stays, and special care unit (intensive care) stays
  • Operating theatre fees and charges, surgical fees
  • Surgically implanted prostheses
  • Cardiac heart procedures
  • Joint replacement
  • Cataract surgery
  • Obstetrics, private midwife, pregnancy and childbirth services
  • Assisted reproductive services (IVF and GIFT)
  • Rehabilitation treatment
  • Personal comforts including TV, and local phone calls (Top Hospital)

Waiting periods for hospital services:

  • Psychiatric treatment: 2 months (benefit limitation until 24 months)
  • Rehabilitation: 2 months
  • Palliative care: 2 months
  • Pre-existing conditions: 12 months

  • Family Care PK: Complete extras cover.
  • Dental D: Dental extras cover only.
  • Premier Plus PP: Only available with hospital cover added. Complete extras cover.
  • Premier Family PF: Only available with hospital cover added. Basic extras cover.
  • Premier Singles PS: Only available with hospital cover added. Basic extras cover.

Waiting periods for extras services:

  • Other extras: 2 months
  • Rehabilitation: 2 months
  • Palliative care: 2 months
  • Psychiatric care: 2 months, with only limited benefits for 24 months (2 years)
  • General dental: 3 months
  • Mouth guards: 3 months
  • Pre-existing conditions: 12 months
  • Major dental and orthodontics: 12 months
  • Optical: 12 months
