HCF: "Focus on Your Recovery, Not Your Budget"
Australians are spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing a health insurance product; but with choice comes more difficulty deciding on an option!
Canstar has made the process easier via its annual Health Insurance Star Ratings report. This year, to determine which providers offer outstanding value for money, Canstar analysed of more than 26,000 quotes from some 707 eligible health insurance products from 22 health insurance providers, measured against 13 demographic profiles.
Canstar is pleased to congratulate HCF on winning the national outstanding value health insurance award; Danny Saksida, Chief Marketing and Sales Officer, HCF took the time to answer a couple of questions.
Q: Congratulations on your win for providing outstanding value health insurance to Australians. Can you share HCF’s philosophy when it comes to health insurance?
A: HCF is Australia’s largest not-for-profit private health insurer. Our not-for-profit position means as a company we exist and work for the benefit of our community of members, not shareholders. This puts us on an immediate difference to the other large health insurers who are for profit.
As we progress beyond our 82nd year of operation, we remain faithful to our not-for-profit charter that delivers more benefits to members.
We do more than just provide high quality health insurance that covers the significant cost of health care. We also care for our members’ health. Q: In terms of HCF’s service, what is important in making a hospital visit a positive experience for members?
A: HCF makes choosing our private health insurance a positive experience from the outset of our member relationship. It does this by ensuring our members enjoy the best no-gap medical coverage of any health insurer in Australia (Private health insurance Ombudsman’s “State of the health funds report” 2013-published annually in March). This is true peace of mind when undertaking elective surgery, as our members can focus on recovery rather their budget.
HCF does not stop at ensuring we have the best no-gap medical coverage in Australia, we also focus on member safety and quality whilst visiting hospital. This ensures our members have a health care partner in the health process, and the focus is on a quality outcome.
