When it comes to corporate responsibility and supporting the Australian business community, American Express has revolutionised the small business world with its ‘Shop Small’ program. Every year in May, September, and November, Shop Small encourages Aussie communities to make a special effort to support and rally around their local small businesses.

Every year, American Express Australia donates a minimum of 500 hours to non-profit organisations, with more than 380 employees participating. American Express Australia focuses on providing funding and volunteering for two not-for-profit organisations: the Australian Business Community Network, and OzHarvest. In 2015, AMEX Australia introduced the ‘Serve2Gether Consulting Challenge’, where employees dedicate 12 weeks to working at Enactus University in Sydney, providing expertise in the fields of marketing, social media communications, management and technology.
