We have a team of 40 talented people who collect, analyse and research over 20,000 products. We started in retail banking but have since moved into insurance - car, home, life, health and travel. We also cover small business banking and agribusiness. We started out looking at interest rates but now research product features, service, claims experience, innovation and customer satisfaction. Our star ratings system is designed to help consumers increase their chances of finding the right product. I’d encourage you to add five star products to your shopping list. You can also use our interest rate tables to find the latest rates. We see consumer education as a major part of our role. Since we relaunched our site 12 months ago we have been adding video content and stories to try and demystify finance for as many people as possible. You’ll often see our research and researchers quoted in the press and on television. Our data is used by over 300 financial institutions to fine tune their products. We provide the information behind Money Magazine’s Bank of the Year. We also power comparison sites such as RateCity and consumer sites such as Choice. Government bodies such as ASIC, APRA and the RBA use our research. Our business was started by our founder, Andrew Willink in 1992, and now holds an Australian Financial Services license. We publicly disclose all our research methodologies and hold workshops with financial providers every year to make sure we haven’t missed anything. About Andrew SpicerAndrew Spicer is CEO of CANSTAR CANNEX. Andrew has been a group executive at an Australian Bank, CEO of a listed Australian IT company, and a McKinsey consultant, working in the financial services practice. He holds an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management where he won the Finance Prize, and recently completed the leadership program at Harvard Business School. |
